Iftane 4 Days

Ride through Eucalyptus and Argan forests, small Berber villages and authentic Moroccan countryside. The highlight of this itinerary is the wild and remote beach of Iftane, and the coves and caves of the coast that are accessible only by foot or on a horseback! Having dinner under the stars, singing and dancing around the campfire and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves will stay in your memory for a long time.

Day 1

We will pick you up at 9:30am just outside the Essaouira old town gates. Meet the team and horses.

Departure from the stables around 10am, riding through Argan and Eucalyptus forests. We’ll have a picnic lunch and a little rest in the shade of Eucalyptus trees.

 

We’ll continue riding through remote Berber villages and have an option to visit an Argan oil co-operative run by local women to sample and buy local products.

 

We’ll arrive at the camp site well before sunset, settle in our tents and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and tea sat around a campfire.

Day 2

Campsite breakfast, prepare horses. Departure for Iftane and its wild and remote beach inaccessible by car. We’ll discover coves and caves of the coast, pass by the Sidi M’Barek cascade and saltwater ponds of Smimou. Picnic lunch.

 

Arrival at the campsite by the ocean, possibility to swim in the ocean, Moroccan tea and pastries and dinner will be served by the campfire.

Day 3

Breakfast and prepare horses. Departure for Sidi Kaouki and its beautiful beaches, passing by beautiful scenery, occasional camels and shepherds with their goats. This is truly authentic Moroccan countryside. Picnic lunch.

 

Arrival at the campsite by the ocean, possibility to swim in the ocean, Moroccan tea and pastries and dinner will be served by the campfire. Possible to stay in a guesthouse on request.

Day 4

Breakfast and prepare horses.Departure from Sidi Kaouki around 10am. We’ll have a picnic lunch in the shade of Eucalyptus trees or by the ocean with magnificent views. The highlight of the day will be a fast galop on a vast sandy beach. The feeling of freedom is unforgettable!

 

The trek is approaching an end when we see the Mogador Island in distance. We take individual galop videos on the beach and ride through Eucalyptus and Mimosa forests back at the stables around 5pm. We will drive you back to your accommodation.

  • We encourage riders to take part in horse care as much as they like. You will be assigned a horse for the duration of the trek, which gives you a marvellous opportunity to bond and take care of your horse.
